Until today, Filipinos are still in survival mode. We were very much afraid and shocked at the same time because it is really hard to believe that this kind of madness could really happen here in Davao City. The Government has been giving warnings and drills but still we didn't realize that this kind of catastrophe was very fast approaching.

On June 28, 2011 around 9 o'clock in the evening, heavy rain started pouring out. We Filipinos are used to heavy rains like this but after a few hours, I received a very disturbing text message from my mother saying that the flood at my grandmother's house was reached more than a human body's height. We experienced rain worse than that night but that much flood never happened before. Everything was just like a dream, like a nightmare.

Houses were destroyed, cars fell on canals, everything was ruined. Morning came and people had to wake up looking at this view. Some didn't even had the chance to sleep cause they had no where else to go. Even though people feel so down and hopeless, people didn't stop helping. People had the heart to give donations such as food, water, clothing and etc.

Time can help the ones who were affected by the blood to heal, to forget and start over. But all those donations, those help and those reconstruction cannot change the fact that many died on that night. They can't bring back the lives that were lost due to that horror.

  1. GOOD START!

You have a nice writeup, but it would have been nicer if you talk more about its impact on you. Minimize making descriptions of the said issue.

The presentation of your blog is quite creative.

Thanks for submitting before the deadline. Keep it up!:D
